Welcome To Our Club


Dunstable Road Cycling Club (DRCC).  We have created this club to encourage anyone who wants to cycle in a social group and lives in, around, or comes into the area of Dunstable regularly.  From novice to experienced riders, we meet nearly every Saturday & Sunday for a 09.00 start  at Zeera Indian Restaurant.  If there are changes to these meeting points or times, they will be posted via the FB page and on this website.  See our calendar to check when the next ride is due.



During the Summer and better weather months, the club also meet for evening rides.  Bring some money as we are well known as a club for stopping at cafes! Average group speeds are 14-17mph but no one gets dropped.


All are welcome, including those joining us for the first time.  All we ask is that you ride with us for a few times, and then join the club.  This gives you a chance to find out if we are the right club for you, and if you’re right for us.


We are a British Cycling affiliated club.  For the club, the benefits this brings are;


  • Public liability insurance of up to £10million for your club activities.
  • Entry into the national and regional rankings for anyone that wishes to race for the club.
  • Support from the British Cycling team in your region for events and activities.
  • Introductory membership discounts for our club members.


We urge all members to become a British Cycling member as well (not mandatory, but strongly recommended).  This brings insurance, support and rewards.  Other member benefits include;

DRCC are also an affiliated club with Cycling Time Trials, or CTT.  This allows us as a club to run our own TT event if we wish for the future, but most importantly for our existing club members, they are permitted to enter open events locally and across the country.

Weekend Rides


DRCC are in a fortunate position to offer two club runs at the weekend.  Both Saturday and Sunday rides start at 09.00 at Zeera Indian Restaurant. Our rides range from 14 mph* upwards, and distances between 35 and 60 miles*.


Please ensure you bring a road worthy bike that is clean and fit for purpose.  Also bring with you tools, spare tube/s, and a pump.  Apart from water, you may also want to bring a snack or energy bar, however we are well known for stopping at cafes, so bring some money for coffee and cake!


If the weather is looking damp and wet, fitted mudguards will earn you a lot of respect and friendship.  Experience has shown that from November through to April you will appreciate them.


Average speeds for our rides are anywhere between 14-17+ mph depending if you select G1 or G2.  Important though, unless mentioned at the beginning of the ride, no one gets dropped or left behind.

Evening Rides


Tuesday Training Ride


Tuesday nights are quick training rides on a set flat route.  Rides will aim to be an average of 20 mph* and cover a distance of no more than 30 miles*.  Starting at   Zeera 18.30.



Thursday Training Ride


Thursday nights are training rides over a set route encompassing a number of climbs.  Rides will aim to be an average of 18mph* and cover a distance of no more than 30 miles*.  Starting at Zeera 18.30.


Note: Due to the nature of the weekday training rides, riders are expected to be of a level of fitness to be able to keep to the pace of the ride and also be comfortable riding on their own in the event that the pace is too quick.  In other words, if you're dropped, you're dropped!
